How does a Twitter discussion compare to a BlackBoard Discussion? To an in-class discussion?
Unlike a BlackBoard discussion a Twitter discussion can eventually be viewed by people other than those it was originally meant for. The topics discussed in a BlackBoard discussion is usually for educational purposes. However, on Twitter a huge variety of topics can be shared between different people. Although BlackBoard and in-class discussions can require that you participate once or twice, a Twitter discussion can be endless. Even though there is a short limit of how much can be said, it can keep people engrossed in the discuss as the system makes it easier to see when people respond to something said. Overall, a Twitter discussion stands apart from a BlackBoard and an in-class discussion because of the ease of communication and the larger audience it could reach out to at the same time.
