Virtual Worlds

The purpose of a virtual world is to provide people with the opportunity to experience life with through another persona. In Second Life, many different types of virtual worlds are available for people with different people with different objectives. One of the pros of offering a virtual world is that it allows people to live life however they want and many of the limitations in real life is gone in that world. Virtual worlds allow people to foster their others dreams or goals without all of the complications of physical limitations. However, a con with virtual worlds is that people are not actually feeling the physical aspects of being in that world. In the article, "I've been in that club, just not in real life" the people in the virtual worlds are offered experiences that they desire and they choose that over the real life opportunities. Social Networking Sites

There are many social networking sites available to the people. They all offer the ease of connecting to a community and the sharing of information. However, each site stands out by offering unique features. Other than Facebook and Twitter I also use YouTube and Instagram. I have been using Facebook for a very long time and it is always the first that I turn to when I wish to share something. When there is an occasion or event, Facebook always notifies you of this and it makes connecting to friends and families easier. Also, the function to share or tag individuals into comments makes it a easy to use social networking site. Unlike Facebook I have only started to use Twitter for a class. Blog About Twitter

How does a Twitter discussion compare to a BlackBoard Discussion? To an in-class discussion? Unlike a BlackBoard discussion a Twitter discussion can eventually be viewed by people other than those it was originally meant for. The topics discussed in a BlackBoard discussion is usually for educational purposes. However, on Twitter a huge variety of topics can be shared between different people. Although BlackBoard and in-class discussions can require that you participate once or twice, a Twitter discussion can be endless. Even though there is a short limit of how much can be said, it can keep people engrossed in the discuss as the system makes it easier to see when people respond to something said. Overall, a Twitter discussion stands apart from a BlackBoard and an in-class discussion because of the ease of communication and the larger audience it could reach out to at the same time.

Blog: Social Networking

Social media technology has improved a great deal in the past decade or so. It has become a huge part of the community. It connects the people personally and professionally. It would only be wise for firms to take advantage of social media to network with the people. As there is a trend shift from traditional brick and mortar businesses to online platforms, firms can increase their customer retention efficiency by creating networking opportunities. An example of this would be like eBay's community. Users of eBay can access the community to discuss potential concerns they have. When firms start to utilize social media to reach their customers they are becoming more customer-oriented. This situation is expressed in the article "How Obama Tapped Into Social Networks' Power." In order to win the campaign, Obama reached out to the people who would be voting. He amassed a lot of support because he was able to reach out to more people.  Social networking benefits people i
